What Do We Do with a Weaponized Government?

What Do We Do with a Weaponized Government?

October 28, 2022

Are you feeling like you are living in a Communist Dictatorship instead of the United States of America?  Our Constitutional Republic is under attack from its very own law enforcement agencies.  Speech is not only being squashed by broadcast media, and social media platforms, but our own government has been weaponized against anyone who speaks out in opposition to the Biden Administration.

The weaponization of government is nothing new.  We’ve seen it plenty of times before, and it’s not unique to one party.  Long ago there was the McCarthy era of intimidation of citizens in the 1950’s; The Nixon Administration’s Watergate affair; IRS blocking conservative groups applying for tax exempt status (including TTP!), and the Obama Administration’s Operation Choke Point, forcing banks to halt business with customers deemed “dangerous” (You know – “dangerous” things like gun sales, ammunition, home based businesses like Mary Kay ladies and Amway distributors)

But never before have we witnessed the level of abuse from government agencies being used to silence dissent that we’ve seen in the past few years.  Every day we hear about another person arrested by FBI teams with guns drawn, pounding on someone’s door in the middle of the night to arrest them for some alleged transgression, or popping up at restaurants to confiscate someone’s phone.  In case you’ve forgotten, here are a few names from recent events:

  • J6 prisoners (for trespassing at the Capitol)
  • Pro Life advocates arrested for praying in front of abortion centers
  • Parents labeled as domestic terrorists by the DOJ for speaking out at school board meetings
  • Steve Bannon, sentenced to 4 months for contempt of Congress because he refused to testify
  • My Pillow Guy, Mike Lindell had his phone seized by FBI at a fast food drive through
  • FBI raid on Trump’s home, Mara Lago
  • Harassment of pretty much anyone who ever supported or worked for President Trump

This is totally NOT acceptable.  Americans deserve a thorough investigation into weaponized federal agencies to determine the depth of the problem, recommend a complete set of reforms to protect Americans, and refer for prosecution as required.

To that end, we are asking all of our supporters to call on Members of Congress to assemble a stand-alone committee with broad investigative powers focused on weaponized agencies and personnel within the federal government.

There is precedence for this.  In 1975 Senator Frank Church was charged with leading a Select Committee (the “Church Committee”) in response to domestic intelligence agencies and their abuses on the public.  Standing committees do not have the structure to identify the issues, but a Church-style committee could overcome these hurdles and ensure the problem is properly investigated and that the appropriate people are held accountable.

A Church-style Committee would have

  • The ability to declassify materials
  • Jurisdiction over every agency (can go wherever the evidence leads)
  • Full resources and staffing for robust investigations to identify offenders

The current Democrat controlled Congress will not do this, but we can appeal to the new Congress in January, which, with a bit of luck, will be Republican controlled and more open to the idea.   Members of Congress need to align and communicate the urgency of re-establishing a committee to expose, or dismantle and prosecute, if necessary, the abuses that have been happening with more and more frequency.

Remember over the last 3 years how we’ve seen cities and government buildings burnt to the ground, in the name of “peaceful protests”, but on January 6, actual peaceful protesters were jailed (and many still are) without due process and without being charged, for visiting their nation’s Capital.  We’ve also seen the news videos of large FBI teams with guns drawn, making early morning or middle of the night raids on people’s homes, or showing up at a restaurant to confiscate someone’s phone.

While President Biden’s DOJ has aggressively prosecuted pro-life activists, it has made no arrests in the at least 17 incidents of vandalism and arson against pro-life clinics committed by the radical abortion group “Jane’s Revenge.” (Fox News, Oct. 6, 2022).

Clear political bias is on display here.  People are being harassed, prosecuted and jailed for their political beliefs.  We expect this kind of behavior from communist dictators, but it cannot be tolerated in the United States of America.

Saul Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals, rule number 10 – “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.”  Isn’t that what’s happening to us right now?  The Biden administration’s law enforcement agencies are maintaining constant pressure on the opposition.

Something has to give, and it’s time for us to push back.  So here are some action steps for you:

Start now with your own Congress Members and Senators.  Start the conversation, and don’t let up.  This is going to be a long-term goal, not a “quick, there’s a vote on Thursday so call them now” sort of thing.  Contact them continuously and frequently.  Keep the topic alive.  Then when the new Congress is seated in January, maybe there will be progress on this important issue.

Thanks to Wade Miller and Citizens for Renewing America for bringing this issue to light, and providing much of the information contained in this message.  They have also done a video highlighting the problem which can be viewed and shared at this YouTube link.

Please help by contacting your US Senators and Congress members.  Contact them firmly and frequently with requests for a Church-style Committee to investigate abuses by federal agencies.  As Benjamin Franklin told the lady after signing the Constitution, “We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it.”  It’s our job to keep it!

“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”
