When it’s time for a meeting, when the polls are open, or when we need you to burn up the phone lines to a Representative, we’ll text you! Generally we send 1-3 texts per month.

Donate to our efforts

True Texas Project is 100% donation-funded. We rely on those who believe in our efforts to help us keep going — and that takes everyone giving a little bit! We’d be honored to receive a one-time donation from you, but we’ve found the best way for most donors to keep it manageable is to donate an on-going monthly amount. Little bits add up to big accomplishments! For those who donate $25/month or more for 3 consistent months, we’ll give you a free tshirt!

Volunteer

Lots of people ask us how they can get involved with TTP. The answer is simple. Come to our meetings! Get to know us, and let us get to know you! Introduce yourself. Talk to us about what interests you. Most of the time when we have new volunteer needs, we email them out. But we also have specific roles folks can play on an on-going basis. Do any of the roles described below interest you? For more information or to volunteer, email [email protected].

Boots on the Ground

Citizen Advocates and Liaisons are our “boots on the ground” activists who are working to make a difference with specific action.  We focus specific efforts on specific issues at all levels of government to achieve our goals and support our core values.

Campaign Work

It’s almost always election season, and campaigns always need more help! TTP is a very action-oriented group, and that includes helping to connect volunteers with candidates. If you can stuff envelopes, make calls, knock on doors, put out yard signs, or host a small gathering in your home, chances are pretty strong a candidate would love to talk to you!

Citizen Advocate

Citizen Advocates are folks who agree to take action – show up at a meeting, testify at a hearing, write letters, make phone calls.  Whatever it takes, TTP Citizen Advocates will show up, stand up, and speak up.  Anyone can be a Citizen Advocate – just watch for our Friday action emails.

Liaisons

Liaisons are our connection to elected representatives.  We try to assign volunteer liaisons to as many elected representatives as possible.  The liaison establishes a relationship and keeps the lines of communication open.  Liaisons are carefully vetted to ensure that they share our core values and have the ability to communicate those values to the assigned representatives.
