Gold Eagle Essay Contest

The True Texas Gold Eagle Essay Contest was established in 2022 to encourage students to learn more about the US currency system and where it has fallen short. This year we are proud to be offering three prizes.

• First Place: Gold Eagle Coin + 2 tickets to TTP’s Christmas party
• Second Place: 10oz Silver Bar + 2 tickets to TTP’s Christmas party
• Third Place: Silver Eagle Coin + 2 tickets to TTP’s Christmas party

3. Junior or Senior in High School (public or private, including home school)
4. From one of the areas where we have a True Texas Project satellite, as listed below :

Answer the following questions in essay format:

1. What is the difference between currency and money?
2. Who is the Federal Reserve?
3. Where have the Federal Reserve, bankers, and politicians taken the value of our currency over the last 100+ years?
4. What backs US currency today?
5. What is the “Petro Dollar”?
6. What does the “Petro Dollar” do for the USA, and what are it’s affects on the worlds monetary system?
7. How does inflation affect the value of our currency?
8. What are your ideas on how to protect your wealth and assets in today’s world?
9. How would a digital currency system affect society in today’s world?
10. What is your personal assessment of the world economic situation today?
11. What event took place in 1971 that altered the value of our currency?

To qualify for the competition you must touch on all the questions listed under “Essay Requirements.” Be sure to proof your essay carefully for correct spelling and grammar. Essays will be blind-judged, and winners will be awarded at our December 9th Christmas party. To submit your essay, attach the word document and email it to [email protected] with the email subject title “Gold Eagle Scholarship” along with the county you live in, your year in school, and the school you attend.
