Sharia Law in Texas?

Sharia Law in Texas?

January 10, 2026

The following article was contributed to True Texas Project by Dorrie OBrien. It addresses a resolution that would need to be passed at the State GOP Convention.

First, thanks to True Texas Project for posting this.

Texas v. Islam
Everyone lately tells us what Islam is. Very few tell us how to stop its spread. So, here’s a way.

First: Keep this in mind: Voting is an American right. Running for office and getting on a ballot is not.

  1. Jihad cannot spread here as is presently happening if they aren’t “voted” into the political halls of Texas and America.
  2. The numbers (there are millions of them!) don’t matter if they can’t control “jihad-dawah and Shari’a” through the ballot boxes by getting their candidates elected.
  3. If they have no political voice, they are practically silenced.
  4. If they can’t buy space in big venues (or be given the space, i.e.: the city streets) to spread dawah, they are practically silenced.
  5. If they can’t teach Islam in American schools, they are practically silenced.
  6. If their Shari’a is restricted to mosque business only, it can’t spread as it is now.
  7. All this applies to the Communist and Socialist Democrat parties as well.
  8. Zohran Mamdani would not be NYC’s mayor if they had these points as law.
  9. A friend sent me this. It’s perfect: “As long as Muslims and any other anti-American candidates are able to campaign, raise funds, and get elected into local, state, and federal positions we are in danger.”

The resolution below covers those issues. Here’s how we all hope to eventually make it law:

  • First, please send (or hand) the resolution to every Republican running in the March primaries for a seat in the House or Senate in your county with the ask: “Can we count on you to back this if you are elected?” And then again to the winners.
  • Second, our grassroots Republicans can make a copy of this resolution and attach it to their individual precinct convention applications to be an attendee to the RPT state convention. It will be heard and passed at the SD conventions, with the intention it be included in the 2026 RPT Platform, which is a BIG signal to the state legislature we want it to be law.

Thank you all, True Texans.

“A REPUBLIC, MADAM, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT,” RESOLUTION
Passed Tarrant County Executive Committee, 1/08/2026

Whereas the United States and the State of Texas have republican forms of government as stated in the U.S. Constitution, Article 4, Section 4, Texas, Article 2, Section 1, in which power is derived from the people through elected officials, not from a monarch, or a dictator, and does not tolerate any other forms, means that any alternate forms of government shall be considered illegal,

Whereas any places of worship or schools or political organizations that minister to, or give monetary or “in kind” support, or instruct others to promote any alternate form of government as preferable to the republican form of government in Texas, shall be considered illegal,

Whereas individuals who use the republican form of government in Texas, specifically but not restricted to elected officials, and are adherent to an alternate form of government in order to further the aims of that alternate form of government shall be considered illegal.

Therefore, be it resolved that all political forms used for candidate filings in the state of Texas shall be amended to include the following wording in the Oath that presently ends with “and of the State of Texas” to “and swear I do not have any allegiance to, or adhere to any other form of government than the republican form.”

Be it further resolved that any person(s) making statements of support for an alternate form of government for the United States and Texas shall not hold political office in the state of Texas.

Be it further resolved, the Tarrant County Republican Executive Committee calls on the Texas Legislature to author and pass a Constitutional resolution that all past and present legislation that does not enhance or support a republican form of government be considered as illegal in the state of Texas.
