On Oct. 1, Tarrant County water and sewer rates are going up for everyone served by the City of Fort Worth and Trinity River Authority. October is the perfect time to add Texas native plants to your landscape and garden to conserve water and save money. Join us for an educational “show and tell” presentation of edible native plants by Kimberly Miller, co-owner of Grow Wild Greenery. Kimberly and her husband Tim only buy from local growers, so all their plants are sure to thrive in our climate. They go beyond selling plants to offering affordable landscape designs, including edible landscapes, that take the guesswork out of what to buy and where to plant. Plant prices are lower than those at chain stores, while using many of the same farms. The Millers keep overhead low to pass savings on to customers. Come and support a local small business that will show you how beautiful water conservation can be! The brief, half-hour presentation will be outside, so please wear a hat and bring a folding chair if you can. We will have fun browsing the nursery afterwards. For newcomers, our Garden Growers Co-op meetings are informal times of sharing, so they’re great opportunities for new and experienced gardeners to get together, learn from each other, make friends and have fun! Our purpose is food freedom—gaining greater independence from corporations for our food. We hope you’ll join us!
