Bus Trip to SBOE Meeting – Stop Islam in Education
April 7 @ 5:00 am - 10:00 pm CDT
The Texas State Board of Education will be meeting next week, April 7 – 10, regarding key issues that need attention. The most important part of the agenda is happening on Tuesday, April 7th, where they will take testimony in public hearing on new TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills) for Social Studies Curriculum. We’ve learned that Muslims are organizing people to attend and testify that Islam should be included. We need as many people as possible to show up to counter their testimony.
Please go to the SBOE meeting if you are able, and if not, use the on-line testimony link to make comments remotely. Also be sure to contact YOUR SBOE member and let them know your position. This is a critical issue, and perfect opportunity to make it clear that we do not want Islamic teachings in our Texas public schools.
There are 3 issues before the board this week that need comment from the public. Two of them happen on April 7th, starting at 8:00 am and one on April 8th, starting at 9:00 am. BUS INFORMATION:
True Texas Project, with the help of Patriot Mobile, is happy to sponsor a bus to the Capitol on Tuesday April 7th for citizens who wish to testify or be present for the SBOE meeting. The bus will depart from First Baptist Church Grapevine, 301 East Texas Street, Grapevine at 5:00 am on Tuesday April 7. The bus will return to Grapevine Tuesday evening, approximately 10:00 pm. The bus is free, but you MUST MAKE A RESERVATION.
