Bexar: Mid-Session Priorities

March 13, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm CDT

As the Texas Legislature is now well underway, we are hosting some of our favorite partnered organizations across the state to help us stay informed. What needs to be prioritized, and how can we take action either from our local community or on trips to the capitol? Let’s find out! Please join us this month for an informative meeting as we hear from our friends at Texans for Vaccine Choice, Texas Gun Rights, Texas Right to Life & Texas Family Project. We will get progress reports, and as always – action items!

About Angie Lemmons:
A passionate advocate for medical freedom, Angie believes strongly that each person must take an active role in their own health. In her youth she learned that standard medical protocol is not always the right path when a prescribed medicine caused her to have a debilitating condition lasting several years. Many hours of research opened her eyes to the risks of vaccines, and she became a staunch believer in true informed consent. Angie began volunteering with TFVC in 2018, coordinating the creation of new printed materials to provide vaccine facts to the public. She also volunteered as an Outreach Coordinator and currently serves on the TFVC Board of Directors. Angie is dedicated to informing Texas citizens, especially new moms, about vaccine choice and health freedom. She and her husband Billy live in the San Antonio area and have three daughters.

About Chris McNutt:
Chris McNutt serves as the pro-gun voice for more than 500,000 members and supporters of Texas Gun Rights. As President, he is at the forefront of protecting — and restoring — the right to keep and bear arms for every law-abiding Texan. Since joining TXGR in 2016, Chris has been a steadfast advocate for Constitutional Carry legislation, culminating in the signing of HB 1927 by Governor Greg Abbott in 2021.
Chris’s activism has not been without controversy. He emerged victorious from a high-profile confrontation with Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen in 2019 and has been a vocal critic of Senator John Cornyn’s support for “red flag” gun confiscation laws and the NICS Gun Registry Expansion. Under Chris’s leadership, Texas Gun Rights has achieved significant legal victories, including challenging and defeating unconstitutional federal regulations like the Biden Administration’s ban on pistol stabilizing braces and the ATF’s classification of forced reset triggers as machine guns.
Chris’s influence extends beyond Texas. As the former Deputy Director of Field Operations for the National Association for Gun Rights, he successfully championed gun rights in a dozen other states, including Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Montana, and Oklahoma. His leadership has earned him national recognition, including being featured on the cover of Time Magazine’s “Guns in America” issue.
A long-time resident of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Chris has been involved in Texas politics for nearly 15 years, including working for the office of former State Senator Don Huffines. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas at Dallas and resides in Parker County with his wife, two children, and their German Shepherd. An avid firearms enthusiast, Chris’s favorite firearms are the FN Scar and his Wilson Combat-enhanced Sig P320. Through his leadership, Texas Gun Rights continues to be a driving force in protecting the constitutional rights of Texans.

About Brittani Oglesbee:
Brittani Oglesbee graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Global Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. While Brittani has always been pro-life, her passion for the movement grew exponentially in college as she began to understand the gravity of the issue and the importance of standing up for the preborn and women. In college, she was an active member of the pro-life student group Texas Horns for Life, where she served as Treasurer and Vice President. After graduation, Brittani joined a two-year development program at her local church where she worked on sanctity of life initiatives and mobilized church members from six congregations to serve women and the preborn by partnering with local pregnancy resource centers. She now serves as an Education Associate at Texas Right to Life, where she has the opportunity to mentor pro-life college leaders through the Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship Program and to educate Texans of all ages on issues of life.

About Brady Gray:
Brady serves as the President of Texas Family Project and is a founding board member of the organization. A proud 7th generation Texan, he is committed to advocating for Texas families and upholding the Christian conservative values that form the foundation of our nation and state.
In addition to his role at Texas Family Project, Brady is Chairman of the Board for A Place For Grace Ministries, a non-profit organization that operates 17 children’s homes worldwide and a school in Lunga Lunga, Kenya. He also serves on the board of The Promise in Glen Rose, a musical production of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The longest running production of it’s kind, The Promise has been sharing the Gospel for more than 37 years, reaching an estimated 300 million people globally.
Drawing from his 15 years experience in ministry, Brady brings a deep passion for serving others and fostering community engagement. Residing in the DFW area with his wife and two children, he continues to champion initiatives that strengthen families, protect children, and promote Christ.
