Join us at True Texas Project Bay Area this month as we welcome the President of the BOD for the Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District. Rusty Burkett is focused on delivering long-term flood relief for Friendswood by moving water efficiently toward Galveston Bay. His approach centers on bringing in top experts engineers, hydrologists, and Ph.D.s to design real, science-backed solutions, while also securing federal and state funding through experienced grant professionals. He is working alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to implement modern, large-scale drainage improvements.

Friendswood has dealt with flooding for decades, and this is about finally getting it right, not temporary fixes. There is a real plan in place, backed by real experts, with real funding opportunities.
