Bible Education During Public School Hours
Is teaching the Bible during the school day really legal? Yes! The concept of released time religious instruction has been upheld multiple times at the U.S. Supreme Court. Released time guidelines both guard against government establishment of any one religion and allow expression of the right to the “free exercise of religion,” also protected by the First Amendment. LifeWise Academy comes alongside administrators and teachers to support their mission of serving students, schools, and communities. Studies show that LifeWise programs improve student attendance and behavior, with educators recognizing the benefits and parents overwhelmingly recommending LifeWise. Join us this month to hear from the South Texas State Director of LifeWise, Aaron Braswell, about this program, and how you can get involved.

About Aaron Braswell:
South Texas State Director
Originally from North Carolina, I played college football at Davidson before starting my career in recruiting. In 2020, I felt called to return to my alma mater to coach and teach, eventually becoming Head Football Coach. After marrying my wife, a Captain in the Army Nurse Corps, I moved to Georgia, where we learned about LifeWise Academy through a Bible study. I joined the LifeWise team as a Planning Coach in 2024 because of my passion for students to receive Bible education, and now serve in my role as State Director from our home in San Antonio, TX. My wife and I are loving Texas and are excited to meet others around the state who share the same desire to see children reached through the power of the Gospel.
About LifeWise:
LifeWise Academy was founded in 2018 as a division of Stand For Truth, an event-based nonprofit ministry with a mission to reach public school students. The creation of LifeWise was inspired by a released time program in Van Wert, OH, which boasts a 95% participation rate among public elementary school students. Stand For Truth and the Van Wert released time program teamed up to create LifeWise Academy, launching the first two LifeWise programs in the fall of 2019. LifeWise Academy now serves more than 1,200 schools nationwide.
