Don’t Sharia My Texas!
You’ve probably been hearing a lot about the advancement of Muslims in Texas. If you think it’s not a problem, you need to think again! And it’s not just the big complexes, like EPIC City (aka The Meadow). There are a number of things happening every day in Texas that promote Islam and protect sharia law practices, and we need to be aware and on guard.
True Texas Project is engaged and committed to fighting back against Islamic dominance and imposition of sharia law in Texas. We need the help of all our supporters in fighting this battle at the local, state and federal levels.
Some things you should know about Islam & sharia:
- Sharia law has NOT been banned (or stopped) in Texas, despite what Gov Abbott may have said.
- Islam is not a religion; it is a political ideology with the goal of world dominance. (We have heard Muslim leaders state “We will wipe out your religion and replace it with Islam”.)
- There are 310 known mosques in Texas, and 70 in the DFW area alone, with more expansion planned.
- In addition to large communities like EPIC City, there are similar plans like the one in the Frisco area, called ICQC (Islamic Center of Quad Cities) that will become a power grab under guise of worship. Another large development is happening in Kaufman County.
- The Islamic centers, operating under 501c3 protections, openly admit to backing candidates, working on campaigns, and hosting them at mosques. (a violation of their c3 tax exempt status)
- There is a nationwide strategy following the Islamic principle of Hijrah – migration for the sake of Islam. (Doctrine based on the idea that Muslims must dominate non-Muslim lands. If you study the history of Mohamed, you’ll see that’s how he established Islam and created a following)
- Banks in Texas offer sharia compliant banking services, featuring no-interest mortgage loans, and some really unusual arrangements.
- Since 2010, the American Muslim population has grown by over 73%
- Islamic materials are being presented in Charter schools and public schools, funded by Texas taxpayers.
- Islam is not a peaceful ideology. Jesus accomplished His mission by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. Muhammad accomplished his mission by coercion with the sword.
What Are We Doing About It?
Several of our Satellite team leaders and I have recently attended trainings and a summit on the issue of sharia influence in Texas. The summit was attended by over 100 people, and included legislators, business people, pastors, media, experts in the field, and grassroots activists. We came together to develop a plan and specific strategy to push back on the advancement of sharia in Texas.
Sharia is happening, whether you know it or not! There is currently an active Islamic tribunal operating in McKinney. It’s a non-binding court, but imposes sharia law, which is in conflict with both the US and Texas Constitutions.
We can legally stop sharia laws because they are not compatible with our constitutions. It is anti-freedom, suppresses and abuses women, and relies on physical abuse to force compliance. These practices cannot be accepted and tolerated in our Texas culture.
Just a few examples of sharia practices that violate the constitution or existing law include:
- Punishment for dissent – Violates First Amendment Freedom of Speech
- Forced Marriage or coercion – Violates human trafficking and coercion stations & domestic violence laws
- Underage marriage – Violates State child-marriage restrictions, and statutory rape laws
- Female genital mutilation is an accepted practice – Federally criminalized under 18 U.S.C.S116.
At the summit, we broke into groups to discuss different aspects of the effort – legislation, legislative priorities, media, the church, local political activism. It’s a work in progress, but we have several action items that need to be employed right now, and we urge your help.
Action Items:
1) Vote YES on Prop 10 – On March 3rd, when you vote in the Republican Primary, there are 10 Ballot Propositions on the ballot. Number 10 is “Ban sharia law in Texas”. We need that proposition to pass with overwhelming majority. Although those propositions are not binding, they do send a message to citizens, legislators and Republican leaders about the wishes of Republican voters. We need to make it a priority.
2) Make the sharia issue a voting issue – As you make your voting decisions, be sure to support candidates who will pledge to fight back against the advancement of sharia influence, and the acceptance of any sharia principles in Texas culture.
3) Participate in the Convention Process – After the election, we need to turn that proposition into action by participating in the RPT Convention process. The goal is to get the ban sharia issue on the RPT legislative priorities list. This requires several steps:
- a) Attend your precinct convention shortly after the March 3rd election and submit resolutions to ban sharia law to your precinct convention
- b) Attend your SD or County convention on March 28, and make sure that the sharia resolutions proceed to the state level.
- c) Attend State Convention June 8 – 13, and vote for the ban sharia issue to be on the legislative priorities list.
- d) If possible, attend state convention on Monday through Wednesday as well as the final 3 days so that you can attend and testify at the Legislative Priorities Committee meetings.
4) Turn the ban sharia issue into a legislative mandate – During the 90th Session of the Legislature, it is important that we hold lawmakers accountable for supporting this issue. Be active with your House Reps and State Senators to voice your opinions. Follow their votes on any sharia issue. Call them out when they do the wrong thing, and praise them when they do the right thing. Join TTP activists at the Capitol throughout the session to work on our legislative priorities.
5) Prayer – This is not a political battle, it’s a spiritual one for Christians, and any other non-Muslim group. Please be in prayer about this every day. The Intercessors For America have produced this 30-day prayer guide, full of useful information as well as 30 days of prayer suggestions, with specific prayer requests each day. I encourage you to use it and learn as much as you can about Islam and sharia, as you pray for our State and our Country.
I know I’ve packed a lot into this message, and the action items carry forward into the months ahead and even next year. But this issue is so important, I can’t stress enough how much we need your help. We’ve ignored it for far too long, and it’s time to start pushing back. Lt Governor Patrick has placed sharia law on his Interim charges for 2026 in the State Affairs Committee, so watch for opportunities to testify on that subject with the committee.

Thank you for all you do to support True Texas Project, and help make Texas better for everyone. We don’t have another Texas to move to, so we have to protect this one!
Stay Engaged!
