FAQ:

  • Who makes the decisions about who to recommend?  The Board of Directors for TTP makes the recommendations for offices larger than county-wide.  For all other races, if we have a satellite or home group in the area, they submit a slate.  For areas with no TTP presence, we look for a trusted local activist or group to give input. This is not an exact science, but we do the best we can! It’s a starting point for your own research.
  • Why are you telling me how to vote? We aren’t! We just offer a good place for you to start your own research.  Many times, we just frankly aren’t excited about any of the candidates, but we all still have to pick one to mark on our ballots.  We do our best to help you with those difficult decisions.
  • What’s the difference between a recommendation and an endorsement?  Our recommendations are just that:  recommendations.  We all have to choose one name on the ballot, and often times we don’t like any of them!  But… we still have to make a choice.  We give our choice without an endorsement — it’s more like picking the lesser of all evils!  Of course, that’s not always the case.  Sometimes a really great person is recommended, but we did not give an endorsement because we just don’t have enough to go on.  Only when our leadership teams are unanimous in their belief that a candidate will represent True Texans well will we mark it as an endorsement.
  • What do the vote tallies on some of the races mean?  If we don’t have a solid concensus on a race, we let you know it.  Instead of listing just one candidate, we list those our leadership were torn between and indicate how many people on the team voted for each candidate.  This supports our mantra that we are not telling you how to vote.  Not even our leadership always agrees!
  • Why didn’t you list my area?  We have 26 locations and give trusted input in those areas.  We also reach out to groups that we know are likeminded to get coverage of more of the state.  But Texas is big!  We are growing all the time, and we add more areas every cycle.  If you know a trusted source in an area we’ve not listed, please email [email protected].  Maybe we’ll add it!
  • Where can I get more information?  To find out who is running on your own ballot, most county elections offices or county GOP offices can direct you. For local elections you can get the list from your ISD office or city council. Once you know who is on the ballot, candidates usually have social media pages you can ask questions on.

GENERAL ELECTION
Early Voting: Oct 19 – 30
Election Day: Nov 3

Check back often as this list will be updated regularly.

At True Texas Project, we encourage you to vote Republican for every position on your ballot in the General Election.
In addition, all counties will vote on a proposition for Bell County that would eliminate the elected office of Bell County Treasurer and give the job to an appointed person.  We believe that reduces accountability and recommend a “NO” vote.
Some locations have other elections on top of the General Election.  See those recommendations below. [coming soon]
